Editorial Project.Posted: October 20, 2013
We were set the task of picking between two editorial articles and then to illustrate what has been said througout. The aim was for people to be attracted the article and for them to roughly get an idea of what the article was about.
I chose the article ‘Is it ever okay to photograph strangers on a train’
I begun by quickly sketching small ideas for compositions, media and subject matter. I struggled initially with this project because of its fast pace and quick turn over time.
I enjoyed the project because it was different and there was a choice which allowed each of us to pick something we felt more inspiration towards.
Once i had read more articles in The Guardian to get a feel for what type of audience it attracted and what the aim of the illustration should be, i was able to decide on a final composition and media for my final piece. I wanted a simple composition that was quite mundain because the nature of the subjects being photographed.
