Paper theatre workshop- Tom MartinPosted: January 12, 2014
To Begin the workshop Tom gave a very engaging and enthusiastic presentation about his interests amongst many others these included Victorian paper theatre books and matchbook theatre.
The Days brief was to create or begin to construct a paper theatre with slots for backgrounds and scenery and stage of the theatre. We were given work of theatre sets and designs of David Hockey, Picasso and Howard Hodgkin to look at to get and idea and inspiration for our final pieces. We were shown how to begin our theatre and encouraged to think about colours, shape and layering. This was a challanging brief for me because i don’t usually work using 3D processes. However, i did really i enjoy this workshop because of Tom’s enthusiasm and thorough help throughout which put to rest any queries and struggles i was having.
